As they were – Photographing the thought provoking creations of young artists

I went to the Newcastle University Fine Arts Exhibition and had a wonderful adventure exploring the beauty of surreal, interesting and thought provoking creations from young artists. I went in with my Canon ready to snag some perfect shots of the exhibition, but I was humbled whilst walking through the gallery. I realised this documentation of art wasn’t about how well my photographs developed: the spot or corrective beauty of my exposure, or the precision of the levels. Like any gallery, it was about the collective experience, each piece contributing to the vitality of the place as a whole.
