In 2018 ADE continues to expand it’s influence in all sectors of electronic music with more venues and artists booked than ever before. From October 17-21, attendees can find workshops, masterclasses, and networking events scattered across the city, but we’re interested in the parties. Here is our guide to the can’t-miss events for Amsterdam Dance Event 2018.
When: Friday, October 19 at 3 PM – 11 PM
Where: Thuishaven
It may be easier to say which of our favourite artists are not playing at this party than which ones are playing – which is saying a lot.
Hosted by label boss DJ Tennis, along with Axel Boman, Gerd Janson, Gommage, Henrik Schwarz, HVOB, Job Jobse, Leon Vynehall, Man Power, Marvin & Guy, Nuno Dos Santos, Pachanga Boys, Perel, Red Axes, and Roman Flügel, with MORE TBA, if you can believe it. How can all this fun fit into an 8 hour party? It can’t. That’s why they’ve planned an afterparty that will extend into the wee hours of the crisp, Dutch autumn morning. We’re going. See you there?
When: October 19, 12 PM – October 20, 11 PM
Where: NDSM
Lineup includes: Agoria, DJ Bone DJ Fett Berger, KiNK, Kuma (NL), Prins Thomas, Optimo, Red Axes, Anthony Parasole, Move D, Orpheu the Wizard, Rodriguez Jr., Romare, Yør Kultura, and more.
Into the Woods throws a party that’s all about the totality of the festival experience. Lights, ambience, attitude, and environment are just as important thematically as the music. It’s a well-curated, well-oiled festival machine with eclectic acts that make this a can’t-miss event for the creative types. ITW will host four heated tents and a warehouse (layer up if you’re in it for the long haul).

When: Saturday, October 20 at 10 PM – 7 AM
Where: Scheepsbouwloods
DGTL, one of the biggest music festivals in Amsterdam is teaming up with Bonobo and his Outlier project. We expect nothing less than iconic from Bonobo, Koze, Âme (live) b2b KiNK (live), Mano Le Tough, Tammo Hesselink, Tom Trago, Leon Vynehall, and Moxie. This is the festival equivalent of the 1996 Chicago Bulls. Total slam dunk.
4. komm schon Alter ADE Weekender
Posted by komm schon Alter on Friday, 3 August 2018
When: Friday, October 19 at 10 PM and Sunday, October 20 at 10 PM
Where: Singel Studios
Saturday is loaded with great parties, but this one stands out with a unique venue at Signal Studios, and the balance of deep, melancholic shades of techno and euphoric, hug-inducing tech-house thanks to Octual & Sinfol, Locked Groove, Kiasmos, Extrawelt, Miss Melera, Gabriel Ananda (live) and Hunter/Game. Katermukke and Einmusika Recordings are well-represented these two nights. Since it is a 24+ event, no teen dramas here.
When: Thursday, October 18th 11 PM – 8 AM
Where: Shelter
Thursday sees Rush Hour return for a showcase with its deepest crate-diggers and most sensational selectors in Amsterdam and beyond. Join Antal, Hunee (3 hour opening set!), Young Marco, and a live show trifecta featuring Soichi Terada, Kuniyuki, and Sauce8 for an unforgettable odyssey through varying genres of electronic music.
Tickets – already on Third Release so hurry up and decide
When: Sunday, October 21, 12 PM – 3 AM
Where: Skatecafe
This party is sold out, but look for more tickets to become available as the date approaches. Giegling parties have a reputation in Amsterdam for never disappointing, so their ADE showcase should be no different. Lineup includes Ateq, Birds & Tapes, DJ Dustin, Dwig, Edward, Elli, Konstantin, Leafar Legov, and Map.ache. Catch it if you can.
When: Sunday, October 21 at 9 pm – 4 am
Where: Oosterbar
Lineup: If you’ve got anything left in the tank for a Sunday event, Something Happening Somewhere is closing out ADE with a killer party at Oosterbar. Join Kiani & His Legion, Nuno Dos Santos, Cosmic Force, Joannes, Tracey, Fader From Borneo, and Roger van Lunteren on the last day of the weekend. This will be a fine party to cap your ADE experience.
When: Wednesday, October 17, 11 pm – 7 am
Where: Oosterbar
Amsterdam’s own Tsepo kicks off the first night of ADE by hosting his own all-nighter at the intimate Oosterbar, boasting a brand new Danley soundsystem. With room for only 180 people, this is the perfect party to kick off ADE and dance with your closest friends thanks to our favourite Amsterdam selector. No corner of the dancefloor and no corner of the last 4 decades of dance music will be left unexplored after Tsepo cues up his first track. We mentioned this same party last year but couldn’t attend. This year we will be there from start to finish. We hope to see you there!
