Love Saves the Day is back for its fifth year. Running in Bristol over the May bank holiday, Love Saves the Day is an eclectic festival that focuses on the fun and community vibe of dance music. Last year the organised increased upgraded venue to Eastville Park, where the festival will be held again this year. The first round of act has now been confirmed and the line-up is oozing with quality.
Bristol has a brilliant, and stylistically varied and influential music scene. Love Saves the Day makes the most of this by inviting along Bristol-based organisations, like the label/artist management firm Futureboogie to organise some of the stages. The Saturday there are head-line acts from Hot Chip and Everything on the Main Stage. However, Ben Klock and Joy Orbison’s appearance on the Paradiso stage- run by Bristol’s award winning Just Jack night- and Skream and the Martinez Brothers on the Cloud9 stage are probably more enticing options for closing out the night.
The Sunday Love Saves the Day shows the importance of grime for UK dance music right now, with Dizzee Rascal and Stormzy headlining the Main Stage. On the same stage Nightmares on Wax- we did say it was eclectic- is always a good bet for a fun time. Across the other stages, Hudson Mohawk, Awesome Tapes From Africa and Rustie all stand out as particular highlights from the closing day of the festival.
