Kendal Calling is back again, this time celebrating its 11th year since it started in 2006. Over the years the festival has continued to get bigger and better, and 2016 is no exception; the 28th-31st July promises to deliver a jam-packed few days of great music in an idyllic setting.
Rudimental, Madness and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds are set to dominate the main stage, alongside other established names including Catfish and the Bottlemen, Everything Everything, Maximo Park and We Are Scientists.
The festival boasts a range of different stages, with the Glow Tent hosting well-known DJs and producers including Redlight, Shy FX, David Rodigan MBE and of course, Craig David’s TS5. Other areas we are definitely looking forward to checking out include the new music Kendal Calling stage, the local music Woodlands stage, as well as the infamously eclectic Tim Peaks Diner.
Last year introduced the Lost Eden area, which is once again set to deliver a formidable and magical range of emerging and established visual and performance artists to keep the festival going on late into the night. Not to mention the other hidden gems of the weekend including the Riot Jazz, Houseparty and Chai Wallah stages that give the festival its innovative mix of different offerings.
In addition to all the music on offer, Kendal Calling provides a whole series of other exciting opportunities. The festival prides itself of its array of food from across the world, as well as being home to a real ale festival and markets, which sell a whole host of different produce, from edibles to jewellery. We can’t wait to head up to Kendal Calling and see the Lake District countryside transformed into a fantastic festival weekend.
