Berlin duo Alex & Digby provide a mysterious debut release for new imprint The Night Wood, launching the label with an eerie and enticing pair of tracks on “Crowhurst”. The EP’s title track combines chugging percussion with an intoxicating interrupted synth line and etherial vocals creating a uniquely mechanical-but-organic sound which builds as the track progresses. The flipside, “Doris” is bassline driven, with the playful melody surrounded by haunting pads. The EP’s clean, seductive sound is very much Berlin, and we look forward to the burgeoning label’s future releases.
