Elusive Swamp81 mainstay Paleman surprised the internet today by releasing one of his new tracks on Soundcloud as a free download. Loefah’s label has gathered a cult following, partly driven by the exclusivity of the music produced by its artists, and it is this infrequency of releases that Paleman cites as his motivation for putting Admiral out online. Paleman said on Facebook:
I’ve been working really hard on so much new music in the past year, switching software and trying all sorts of new techniques to push myself and my sound. I can’t wait to show it you and release it in the coming months. I’ve always been happy with this tune “Admiral” but I’ve not really found the best way to work it into my release schedule and people regularly ask me about it. So I thought why not just give it out for free?
True to form, Admiral is a percussion-driven banger, flowing along with a bubbling bassline and thudding drums, the first of a slew of new tracks expected from the Manchester / London based producer.
