Headman has produced countless relies over the years, known for reinterpreting classic tracks which have inspired him. Ranging from the mid 1970s to the early 1980s, the album spans reworks of Roxy Music, Italo Disco classics, Synth-Punk and Swiss pop.
He tries to keep as much of the original as possible, slightly updating and adapting to modern-day dance floors. The essence, intended to be kept alike and preserved.
Our favourites include the album-opening of Fred Ventura, which also features on the limited edition 7” Vinyl, originally produced by Italo Disco legends Turatti and Chieregato. One of John Peel’s favourites of 83′, The Unknown Cases sweeps in – the rework was released on Relish EP V Vinyl in 2014, an afro/cosmic treasure in Robis vinyl collection.
We also loved Robi’s rework of Grauzone’s Stephan Eicher’s hit Nice. This was a very important rework for Robi, being a Swiss national and a big fan of Grauzone and Stephan Eicher, which we have previously featured here.
Headman / Robi Insinna Reworks will be out on Relish on the 24th June. For more information, visit Relish’s website here.
