Bristol has gathered an eclectic mix of must-see musical acts this year for Simple Things Festival – with something to impress even the most discerning palate.
The festival kicks off on Friday 23rd October, with their opening party featuring legendary Montreal post-rock band Godspeed You! Black Emperor.
Spanning across Bristol’s most unique musical spaces including Colston Hall, Lakota, The Firestation, The Coroner’s Court and the O2 Academy, Saturday’s line-up brings together Brooklyn-based experimental math-rock adventurers Battles, group of classically trained musicians – Penguin Cafe, and Post-punk/art-punk veterans Wire, Lee Scratch Perry, Savages, with the likes of synth focused Factory Floor. Other acts on the bill include Dean Blunt, Speedy Ortiz, Skepta, HEALTH, Liturgy, Lower Dens, Nicole Willis & The Soul Investigators, Chastity Belt, Long Arm, Grumbling Fur, Loyle Carner, DJ Funk, Romare and Danny L Harle.
In the night, DJs will continue the music in Lakota and Coroners Court with sets from Chicago house legend Ron Trent, Berlin techno prodigy Objekt, Tessela Mike Skinner, Moxie, Untold Hunee, Barnt, Hamburg techno maven Helena Hauff, Nd_baumecker, Avalon Emerson and Berlin’s Discodromo.
