The South-West’s finest festival of musical exploration returns in October for its sixth instalment. Spanning across numerous established venues and DIY spaces, Simple Things furthers its reputation for delivering a unique programme of boundary-crushing music.
The first headline announcement of the main festival will see Los Angeles’ finest all-female group Warpaint showcase new material along with the best of their three albums to date. Their blend of expansive, lush, emotional and psychedelic songs makes them a perfect choice to take top-billing.
Electronic singer/songwriter and synth-pop producer Jessy Lanza joins the line-up, having recently gained a vast following after the release of her new album ‘Oh No’. Recent Crack Magazine cover star Abra jets in from Atlanta representing the ever burgeoning Awful Records imprint, whilst rising Grime MC AJ Tracey is sure to attract attention.
Simple Things’ DJ bookings are as impressive as the live lineup, headlined by eclectic tastemaker Ben UFO. Metronomy makes his Simple Things Debut while Beats in Space’s Tim Sweeny is sure to impress. Helena Hauff returns after wowing the crowd at last year’s event, and Teklife’s DJ Spinn is sure to turn heads.
