Truck Festival, Oxfordshire, 15-17 July

Truck Festival 2016 takes place over this coming weekend from 15th-17th July. This year’s now sold-out festival is retaining the Oxfordshire event’s history, having first been established in 1998. It will once again be looking to retain its name as the “Godfather of the small festival scene”.

In recent years, the festival has played host to emerging and established talent from the likes of Biffy Clyro, Foals, Two Door Cinema Club and The XX. Last year saw headline acts Basement Jaxx, Clean Bandit and The Charlatans perform and as a result, this year certainly has a lot to live up to.

This year’s headline acts are dominated by the indie rock bands, harking back to the 2014 line-up. The main stage will host a series of established names; of which we are particularly looking forward to seeing Everything Everything, Circa Waves, Coasts, Kodaline and Catfish and the Bottlemen.

In amongst these bands, the festival continues to live up to its traditionally eclectic line-up; featuring older acts like the classic hip-hop group Jurassic 5 as well as the Manic Street Preachers.

In addition to the main stage, the festival boasts plenty of other opportunities to see some excellent acts. We’re particularly excited to see SOAK and Mystery Jets at the daytime Market Stage. The night time Market Stage then hosts drum and bass legend Wilkinson and Garage artist Preditah over the Friday and Saturday respectively. Other acts we’re excited to see are playing on The Nest stage where Neckdeep and We Are the Ocean will be headlining. In addition to these there are 4 further stages.

Truck promises to once again live up to its “anti major festival” reputation, allowing all festival-goers to bring their own food and drink into the event; creating an accommodating and friendly atmosphere. Combined with another packed line-up; this year is set to impress.
