Drone head honcho Richard Fearless returns to deliver Overview Effect, the budding label’s fifth release. A Detroit influenced, string based beauty which builds into deep, rolling techno with a pulsing two minute synth build followed by another two of euphoric strings. Fearless can’t be criticised for scrimping on the anticipation. When Overview Effect finally relents, it truly delivers, with droning synths floating over perfectly placed claps. On the flip side, Metal Dub is stripped back and hypnotic, with its heavy, metallic drums building over a tight four four drum pattern and shuffling shakers.
